The Coton de Tulear (pronounced coe-TAWN-day-Tule-ee-r) is a rare breed of dog originating in Madagascar. They are a non-shedding, hypo-allergenic dog with a dry, long flowing coat of hair rather than fur. They are as soft as cotton! It is a relaxing pleasure to just hold them and pet them.
Their sweet disposition, intelligence and delightfully soft coat, make the Coton a very special and desirable companion.
Is the Coton de Tulear breed right for you?
Cotons can live as long as 18 years. They are generally a very healthy breed but this is not to say they are completely free of all diseases or health problems. As a potential owner you must be ready for a long term partnership. If you believe that a Coton puppy could be the right match for you, doing the research and educating yourself about the breed beforehand could save you far more than money.
